Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Building information modeling, or BIM, is an integrated process for exploring a project’s key physical and functional characteristics digitally before it is built. This helps to deliver projects faster and more economically while minimizing environmental impact. Coordinated, consistent information is used throughout the process to design innovative projects, better visualize and simulate real-world appearance, performance and cost, and create more accurate documentation.
At Meridian our years of experience and collaboration with design consultants, architects, subcontractors, software providers, and AEC industry organizations allows us to integrate the most current digital modeling technologies and associated optimized workflows into our projects. We utilize 3D modeling and BIM to support project estimates, evaluate site logistics, animate project schedules, visualize specific construction work, and clash detect building systems. This virtual construction analysis allows us to provide project input earlier than with traditional methods. As a result, conflicts are identified quickly and alternatives recommended sooner, saving our clients time and money.
